Printed on high quality fine linen paper, the design featured on the Certificate of Authenticity has been inspired by the unique design and colour scheme chosen by Sir Charles Kingsford for the ‘Lady Southern Cross’ and reflects the Art Deco era of the 1930’s.

The image of the Lockheed Altair in flight was produced specifically for the Commemorative Release, featuring the national flag of the United States of America and the national flag of Australia to highlight the connection between the two countries through the aviation achievements of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith.

With the selection of any item the name of the purchaser or a name nominated by the purchaser will be included in the Commemorative Flight Book.

Tommy as he was commonly known was brilliant pilot and aeronautical engineer, a great friend and colleague of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. Tommy had long been Kingsford Smith’s chief mechanic and flown mayn times with Smithy, Tommy was a teacher at the Kingsford Smith school for aviation and contributed widely to the pioneering era of aviation in Australia and around the world.
